When my hair started to thin a few years ago (I’m 61 now), I really wanted to get it back. But, I didn’t want to use harsh chemicals or waste money on mainstream things that don’t work. I wanted something natural that actually worked. So what did I do? I turned to the history books…
I found that there are different “ancient cultures” that had amazing routines for keeping their hair thick, long and strong for life. I thought, if it worked for them, why can’t it work for me?
I researched and tried out the methods of various cultures, and came up with my top 5. Some of them are harder to use, but all are great. However, my favorite by far is #1 - it truly transformed my hair for the better (and the thicker!).
For hundreds of years Peruvian women have been known for their long, silky hair. It’s no wonder that some of the best hair extensions are made from Peruvian hair… So what’s their routine? They eat and and rinse their hair with a ton of quinoa! The properties in quinoa make it great as a hair treatment. The problem is, this one takes a while to make and I don’t really want to eat a ton of quinoa daily! So while this can be great for stimulating hair growth, I’d suggest checking out these other tips.
The Basara Arab women of Chad are known to have very long naturally coarse hair that famously goes down to their thighs! Some call it “long kinky hair”, I call it that and long beautiful hair! How do they do it? They cover their hair in a home made mixture that keeps their hair moisturized and lubricated (that’s why they say it never breaks). The mixture includes Shébé seeds, “Mahllaba soubiane” seeds, and several others. This is great, and worked well, however these ingredients are super specific to Chad and Sudan and can be hard to come by!
These braided rapunzels are said to have “every stage of life reflected in their hair”. Now, not everyone desires long braided hair like these but these women are renowned for their incredibly long “Eembuvi Braids”. They actually used a thick paste-like mixture of tree bark and oils to keep their hair grow long and strong. It’s a bit mystical, but it worked well for them! If you’re okay with wearing thick paste in your hair, this might be a great method for you if not, we recommend #1 still!
It’s no secret that Native Americans had long, beautiful, amazing hair, and they took it very seriously! Native Americans believe that hair has symbolic significance in tying them to mother earth whose hair is long grass! They also believe hair is a physical manifestation of the spirit - I tend to agree! What did they use for their hair? A number of natural things - but the top two are Aloe Vera and Saw Palmetto. Saw Palmetto also has properties that help prevent thinning hair! Now, I tried these things and they work really well. I thought this would be the best, but when I tried #1 I could never go back - I always use this now.
Yao Women of Huangluo Village ar for having the “World’s Longest Hair” and that’s confirmed! Many people think their hair is all genetics, but I learned that wasn’t the case!
How do they do it? They credit their 2,000 year old method to something some researchers call “Energy for Hair Growth”. This method was my favorite because, now there’s a way to use it with just 30 seconds a day for quick and long-lasting results.
I found it in this short presentation that shared a 72 year old woman’s story using this village’s routine to get thick hair past 70! Once I watched this whole thing, and tried it - myself my hair transformed. Check out the story by clicking this link or the image below.
P.S. This story inspired the creation of Folliboost: the easy to use Hair Growth Serum that will powerfully help strengthen & grow hair from the comfort of home.
